Abstract: The electron-ion collider(EIC) is a next-generation experiment scheduled to begin operation in the early 2030s. It is easy to imagine that, just as RHIC was, physics related to the EIC will become a central research trend in the field of high-energy nuclear physics for the next 20 to 30 years. The high-energy electron-proton collision experiment has a history spanning more than half a century, and with each new experiment, our understanding of nucleon structure has been continuously updated, while also stimulating the development of the perturbative QCD as a theoretical framework. In this talk, I will introduce recent significant developments in perturbative QCD methods and discuss the physics expected at the EIC from the theoretical perspective.
