                       Second Circular
             The Fifth International Workshop on
             DIRECT REACTIONS WITH EXOTIC BEAMS
                         (DREB2007)

====================================

January 2007

 Dear Colleagues,
-
The International Workshop on "Direct reactions with Exotic Beams"
(DREB2007) will be held in Wako campus of RIKEN, conveniently located
in the suburb of Tokyo, on May 30-June 2, 2007. This is a satellite
workshop of the International Nuclear Physics Conference at Tokyo
(June 3-8, 2007); see

     http://www.inpc2007.jp/.

-
DREB2007 is the fifth International Workshop in a series of workshops
initialized by researchers from MSU, Florida, Saclay and Orsay. The
earlier meetings were held in 1999 at Michigan State University (USA),
in 2001 at IPN Orsay (France), in 2003 at the University of Surrey
(England) and in 2005 at Michigan State University (USA). DREB2007
intends to present the latest topics in the field and stimulate fruitful
discussions.
-
DREB2007 is hosted by Faculty of Science at Kyushu University_1), RIKEN
Nishina Center for Accelerator-Based Science_2) and Center for Nuclear
Study (CNS) at the University of Tokyo_3).
We are looking forward to seeing you in Wako campus of RIKEN.
- Sincerely yours,
Organizers

Scientific Program
-
The scientific content will address the extraction of nuclear structure
and astrophysical information from direct reactions with exotic beams as
well as the understanding of reaction mechanisms. It will include the
latest theoretical and experimental topics on varieties of reaction
studies.
The workshop consists of oral and poster presentations. A large number
of the talks will be selected from the submitted abstracts (see below).
We will inform the result of the selection by April 6, 2007.

Accomodation

Participants will stay at Toyoko Inn "Wakoshi Ekimae", a new hotel in Wako
city. The website of this hotel is

The participants are required to make the room reservation by themselves
using the on-line reservation service or by fax, which can be found at the
hotel website. The reservation should be made preferably two months before
     the check-in date.

Other hotels along Tobu-tojyo-line are:
      Daily hotels in Asaka-city, Niiza-city, Shiki-city

Financial support
Limited funds are available for support of young participants, primarily
by waiving registration fees and possibly by supporting accommodations.
Those who wish to obtain these partial supports may contact us via e-mail
with the title of "DREB2007 support" at .
Since the fund is extremely limited, the selection will be made by the
    Organizers.

A special student program for Ph.D-course students of nuclear and hadron
physics is planned at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech). Details
