15.64.49.5  LINEAR     - Linear scale is used 
  *  LABELS - maximum number of big ticks with labels.  (Default:6)
  *  TICKS  -  number  of  subintervals  with unlabeled ticks.  SHORT|LONG
     determine  whether  the  unlabeled  ticks  are  short  or  long.   If
     unspecified SHORT is assumed.
     (Default:5 SHORT)
If TICKS=1 then there are no unlabeled ticks.
